Tubex Tree shelters provide a micro-climate for trees which results in better initial establishment and higher survival rates, allowing for the planting of smaller trees which are cheaper and easier to source, and ultimately lead to trees with stronger roots.

Available in three sizes:

• 1.2m Tubex Standard (Diameter of between 73 -105mm)

• 1.5m Tubex Standard Plus (Diameter of between 80 -120mm)

• 1.8m Tubex Standard Plus (Diameter of between 80 -120mm)

Please note, these tree shelters come in nests of 5 tubes with a slight variation in diameter. Tubes to be separated before use.

Higher air moisture within the Tubex treeshelter reduces water stress and enables the plant to survive in dry or drought conditions. The Tubex Standard Plus Tree Shelter also provides complete protection against animals including rabbits, hare, muntjac and deer and herbicides in a way that is flexible, efficient and cost effective.

Benefits of Tubex treeshelters;

• Provision of a barrier against damage from animals

• Protection against drift from pesticides during spraying

• Creation of a microclimate around the young plant, sheltering it from extremes of weather and enhancing its growth

• Made from durable twin-wall construction

• Easy to fit with releasable ratchet ties

• Designed with a flared rim to reduce rubbing on the plant’s stem

The choice of shelter height depends on the wildlife present on site. The following is a guide for selection.

Rabbits  60cm shrub shelter
Muntjac Deer  1.2m tree shelter
Fallow Deer  1.5m tree shelter
Red Deer  1.8m tree shelter

A square stake is needed to support each Tubex Tree Shelter, inserted into the ground to 1/3 of the stake height, ensuring the stake is below the flared rim at the top of the shelter. See Square Stakes for recommended sizes.
