The Hamamelis x intermedia 'Arnold Promise', Witch Hazel Tree is a vigorous winter-flowering, large, ornamental shrub producing spidery yellow flowers which are frost-resistant and wonderfully fragrant.
Description
Hamamelis x intermedia hybrids are crosses between Japanese witch hazel (H. japonica) and Chinese witch hazel (H. mollis). This winter flowering deciduous shrub is a fantastic choice to bring colour to your garden when it's most needed. 'Arnold Promise' produces an abundance of yellow spidery fragrant flowers between December and March. After flowering, large green leaves cover the branches and turn vibrant shades of oranges and yellows as the season progresses. The Royal Horticultural Society has given this stunning witch hazel its Award of Garden Merit .
Planting Position
This plant is a full sun to part shade lover, and is best grown in well-drained soils that are preferably organically rich,and acidic soils. It does have some tolerance for clay soils. It will flower best in full sun and is best kept out of cold winds.

This small tree has a maxiumum height and spread at 2m x 2m.
