Description
A fast growing evergreen hybrid conifer, which can reach upwards of 40 metres. Conical in shape, with dense dark foliage, which hides the trunk. Commonly used as hedging in residential areas.
Planting Position
Leylandii grow well in most locations and soil types; they prefer full sun, but will survive in partial shade.
Attributes
Flat rays of dark green leaves, scale like and they form in sprays. Dark brown cones, shaped like balls with a central spine. Leylandii has very little value to wildlife, although it can provide shelter for garden birds. Most commonly used for instant hedging between residential properties, but may also be used as a specimen tree in a park or garden.
