Crataegus laevigata 'Rosea Flore Pleno' is a wonderful showy Midland Hawthorn with double pink flowers which cover the tree in May. This Ornamental tree is a hardy specimen that makes a great feature in the garden throughout the year, with colour foliage through Autumn and berries for the birds.

Description
A popular, small, rounded deciduous garden tree which displays an abundance of pink double flowers in May that look a little like tiny roses.  In Autumn, attractive scarlet haws cover the tree, which are a delight for birds. The foliage also provides interest in autumn as it changes from green taking on yellow and bronze hues through the season.

Also known as Crataegus x media ‘Punicea Flore Pleno’.

Planting Position
'Rosea Flore Pleno' are happy in a wider range of soils as long as they are well-drained. They are happy in polluted urban areas or in coastal conditions. They do prefer full sun, or partial shade. This wildlife-friendly tree would make an excellent specimen for a small to medium sized garden.

Care & Maintenance
A hardy tree that requires minimal input once planted. If preferred, the side branches can be cleared from the lower trunk to give a clear stem - particularly beneficial if planting near a walkway as the branches are quite thorny. If the crown becomes overcrowded and damage occurs to some branches, these can be removed. Best pruned either lightly in spring, after flowering, or in winter when the tree is dormant.
