Overview

This weeping willow is a very small tree and has a domed form, similar to a large mushroom.

Description
Kilmarnock Willow is the weeping form of Pussy Willow that is top grafted onto a normal Goat Willow stem.  In winter, this pretty little tree has brightly coloured stems that stiffly pendulous to form a mound shape.  When spring arrives before the leaves emerge, grey catkins with yellow anthers adorn the branches, followed by green ovate and lush foliage.

Planting Position
Willows are extremely adaptable trees that grow in most conditions, including very poor, permanently waterlogged soils. Which is why you often find them on river banks.  They grow well in good conditions but do require a sunny location.  They are also tolerant of coastal exposure.

Attributes
Kilmarnock Willow will give any garden year-round interest.  It is perfect as a striking feature for a garden with limited space.
