Description
Grown principally for its bright red young leaves, Photinia is a popular species used in garden hedges where it provides striking year round colour. This upright hedge can be clipped up to three times in Spring and Summer to encourage the bright red leaves to continue to form but no later than August. A low maintenance hedge which will grow up to 4m in height.
 
Planting Position
Suitable for most locations and soil types, best grown in moist, but well drained soil, in full sun or part shade. Frost tolerant and happy in exposed positions.
 
Recommended planting density:
3L Container : 3-5 plants per metre
5L Container : 3-4 plants per metre
10L Container : 2-3 plants per metre
 
Attributes
The eliptical leaves are grow up to 10cm long and are bright red when young, turning a glossy dark green, tinged with red on maturity. Small white flowers may appear in mid-late Spring but can be sparse. They most commonly appear when planted in a warm, sunny sContainer. These may be followed by red berries.  Most commonly in garden hedges to provide evergreen coverage and provide a splash of colour year-round and especially in winter.
