The Ecomatt Weed Control Fabric Mats offer a great tree weed spat option that degrade over approximately two growing seasons (dependent upon environmental factors). Easy to install, with a pre cut slit, making them easy to fit around newly planted trees.
The benefits of these mats include:
- weed supression
- moisture control
- temperature control
The Ecomatts will help to reduce the impact on competing weeds and grasses around the area where tree planting is taking place. Made from recycled jute, the product is needle punched onto a biodegradable film backing. This allows water and air to percolate through the wool layer and helps to retain moisture in times of drought. In addition, the mat acts as an insulator and absorbs heat from the sun, creating an assisted environment for the plant to establish itself.
