Striking small garden tree noted for its vibrant golden heart shaped foliage and pretty pea-like purple pink spring flowers.

 

Description
Noted for its golden foliage, this pretty garden tree starts with delicate pink / purple pea like flowers appearing on bare branches in Spring. The heart-shaped foliage that follows is a vibrant, almost luminescent lime green which changes delicately through summer to a more golden hue. The leaves show a gentle gradient in colour from the darker innermost leaves to the brighter outer edges providing more interest. The foliage will turn a more golden yellow in Autumn.

 

The gently rounded shape of this small garden tree will grow up to 3m x 3m in 10 years.

 

Planting Position
Cercis canadensis 'Hearts of Gold' prefers well drained moist, moderatley fertile soil and a good sunny sContainer will encourage a better show of flowers.

 

Attributes
Bushy, small deciduous garden tree. Great choice for a specimen tree in the garden.
