Description
This easy-to-grow species displays pretty, bell-shaped, pinkish-white flowers during late spring, attracting bees, birds and butterflies into your outside space. The flowers are followed by juicy pink blueberries during the summer months and are delicious in pies, jams and muffins!
This compact shrub has glossy, dark green foliage that turns attractive shades of orange and burgundy before the leaves fall in autumn, revealing the thin reddish branches throughout the winter. The ultimate height is 1.5m with a similar spread.
Position
The Blueberry (Vaccinium) Pink Lemonade can make an excellent addition to your patio, borders or hedge and is often seen in courtyards, informal and coastal gardens.
'Pink Lemonade' prefers full sun to partial shade in acidic soil that is moist but well-drained. Alternatively, they can be planted into a Container using ericaceous compost.
After Planting Care
We recommend watering regularly with rainwater as opposed to tap water.
You do not need to prune in the first two years. After that, in late February to early March, remove a quarter of the branches yearly so the plant continues to be productive. Remember, birds love these fruits, so keep them covered in nets if you want them for yourself. All blueberries are partially self-fertile; planting more than one variety helps improve the yield.
