The Prunus serrulata 'Kanzan', also known as 'Kwanzan', is one of the most popular and widely recognized Japanese flowering cherry trees. Celebrated for its vibrant display of deep pink, double blossoms in spring, 'Kanzan' transforms any landscape into a spectacular show of color. Its vase-shaped growth habit and lush, green foliage that turns to fiery shades of orange and red in autumn, make it a year-round focal point.

Description
'Kanzan' is renowned for its abundant clusters of large, double pink flowers that bloom profusely along the branches, creating a dense canopy of color before the foliage emerges. Each flower is a work of art, with layers of petals creating a stunning visual effect. As the season progresses, the leaves unfold into a rich green, providing a striking backdrop throughout the summer. In autumn, the foliage takes on brilliant hues of orange and red, adding another layer of interest to the garden. This tree's upright, spreading habit allows it to grow into a majestic specimen, making it an ideal choice for avenues, large gardens, or as a standout solitary feature.
