Pick: Mid July
Use: Eating & Cooking

Self-fertile

Description
Bred in Kent and a winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, this wonderful gooseberry is a firm favourite and best-seller.  It produces a heavy crop of yellow-green berries with smooth skins. The berries freeze well, keeping their shape, or can be used fresh to make wonderful jams and preserves as well as in other desserts. An easy to grow, vigorous variety which is resistant to mildew.

Planting Position
Very easy to grow fruit and will thrive in a variety of soil types except water logged areas. Very happy in a sunny position trained against a wall or in a container to restrict spread. As with most gooseberries, these are a great hit with birds, so be sure to cover them if planning on eating or cooking them!

Attributes
Particularly hardy and resistant to mildew, making this a good variety for organic gardens.
