Description
With its symmetrical and rounded habit, 'Sun Valley' is a wonderful ornamental tree for a medium to large garden. Introduced by the US National Arboretum, Washington DC, this beautiful red Maple is a cousin of Acer Rubrum 'Somerset. Keeping its autumn tones for longer than other cultivars, and providing stunning autumn colour displays. New spring foliage is a reddish-green, maturing to bright green in summer then turning on its fiery autumnal display.
 
Planting Position 
This beautiful Acer prefers to be planted in neutral to acid soils and is happy in semi-shade to sunny areas.
 
Attributes
A very easy to grow tree that will provide year round interest for any medium to large garden. With a nice symmetrical shape it will grow up to around 10m x 4m at maturity. Its autumn colour is show-stopping, making this a very desirable tree.
