An unusual and unique variety with small panicles of single pale primrose yellow blooms.
Description
This upright, deciduous tree has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Its flowers intensify as the tree matures, giving a more dramatic show of richer flowers each year. Producing small panicles of beautifully fragranced, primrose yellow single flowers in May - June with dark green heart-shaped foliage.
Planting Position
Although tolerant of light shade, for best flower production, plant in full sun. This lilac will grow easily in fertile, alkaline to neutral, dry to medium and well-drained soils. It does not like acidic soils and will thrive in chalky soils.
Attributes
One of the most fragrant of the lilacs and perfect for use as cut flowers. The creamy yellow colour is very distinctive.
