Description
The Scarlet Willow has narrow mid-green leaves and yellowish catkins with the young leaves in spring, but is most conspicuous in winter when the branches are a brilliant orange-scarlet, especially if they are pruned hard back every second year. If left it can Containerentially develop into a tree of more than 12m. This ornamental tree is a fantastic tree for adding winter interest to your garden.

Suitable for any well drained soil. Any aspect. Sheltered or exposed sites. Sun or part shade.

Narrow spear-shaped leaves with silky hairs, greyish beneath. Insignificant catkins in spring. Mainly grown for colourful ornamental stems in winter, greater impact if planted in groups.
Low maintenance tree for screening, ornamental use in coastal or wildlife gardens, stabilisation of river banks. As with all willow trees, this specimen presents a fantastic environment for a variety of wildlife.
