Unusual variety of mulberry producing fruits that are up to three times the size of regular mulberries. Black, juicy fruits and one of the sweetest varieties.

Pick: Early August

Use: Cooking & Eating

Self-fertile

Description

Also known as Mulberry Pakistan, the mulberries from the Giant Fruit are two to three times larger than regular mulberries. These wonderful mulberries are delicious and sweet eaten straight from the tree with a good flavour and can also be cooked in puddings, for jams and drinks. Fairly trouble free tree, slow growing with a neat shape.

Planting Position

A well drained soil and a good sunny position is best. Prefers a slightly sheltered position. Beware, the fruits of the mulberry tree can stain very easily - clothes or hands, especially when picking. To gather the fruits easily, lay a clean sheet under the tree and shake the trunk or boughs vigorously to loosen and ripe fruits.
